Until OL7, running command “vncserver” creates a vnc session but in OL8 it gives the following message. For Windows versions VNC, the server software itself typically has a setting for whether to lock. Try to disable the screensaver or lengthen the idle duration on the targets desktop. The way of configuring VNC has changed from Oracle Linux 8 onwards.
